Wittenberg Music Audition Workshop 2014
Learn how to audition for college music programs and their scholarships, at Wittenberg’s yearly music audition workshop.
You will perform an audition, receive written input from a panel of faculty, and learn about the entire audition process.

4:30-5:20 pm - Singers are invited to attend part of a rehearsal with the Wittenberg Choir (Krieg Recital Hall).
5:00-7:00 pm - All participants are invited to have dinner at the Wittenberg “CDR” (Center Dining Room, in the Student Center). Meal vouchers will be provided in the Music Office in Krieg Hall, 1:00-6:00, on the day of the event.
5:30-6:45 pm - Instrumentalists are invited to attend part of a rehearsal with the Wittenberg Symphonic Band (Weaver Chapel; a dress rehearsal).

7:00 pm - Welcome
7:15 pm - Mock auditions (perform one, and watch others)
8:30 pm - Discussion: choosing music, stage presence, and more
9:00 pm - Adjourn!
What to Perform
Prepare a solo or etude about 3-5 minutes in length. If you wish, choose a solo that is appropriate for OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) Solo and Ensemble adjudication. A pianist will not be needed for instrumentalists, but will be provided for vocalists. (The pianist will be Wittenberg staff accompanist Diane Slagle.) This workshop will be held in Krieg Hall (the music building), at 632 Woodlawn Ave. Free parking is available in the Student Center Parking Lot (across the street from Krieg Hall, on the other side of Ward Street), and in the Krieg Hall Parking Lot (just to the east side of Krieg Hall).
If you are visiting Wittenberg from out of town, you might wish to check this list of Springfield hotels. If you are a high school senior and are visiting from more than three hours away, contact Dr. Kazez about the possibility of an overnight stay with a current Wittenberg music major on campus.
