The Outdoor Club
Our mission as the Outdoor Club is to allow all students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor activities. The outdoor club is built on a need that has not yet been focused on by the University. We have found many individuals and small groups of people that show great interest in our range of activities. We wish to unite students and faculty in the pursuit of our common interest. Far more can be accomplished with the combining of our time, resources and enthusiasm.
Activities Include: whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, horseback riding, hiking, skydiving, camping, rock climbing, cycling and rappelling. The members shall decide the Outdoor Club activities. The club will attempt as many of the suggested activities as possible.
Along with their numerous activities, the Outdoor Club will provide instruction, safety counseling, and guest lectures. Many of the Outdoor Club’s activities incur risk, so it is imperative that all participants in club activities be thoroughly instructed by professional and experienced leaders. The Outdoor Club officers will meet biweekly to discuss and prepare for upcoming trips. The club will also hold training sessions and organizational meetings to prepare for upcoming events and activities. We wish to sponsor a minimum of one major trip and a few smaller trips per term.
