Student Involvement Events & Programs

The university supports student efforts to take the lead in shaping the learning and living environment.

Many student organizations work with the Office of Student Involvement and other university groups to plan events and bring exciting guests, artists, and speakers to campus. Please see below a listing of campus activities, programs, and traditions.

Welcome Week

Each incoming student at the start of the fall semester at Wittenberg University has the opportunity to participant in the four-day, transition experience called Welcome Week. During this time first year students are placed in groups with two orientation assistants to assist with the social, educational, and inclusive experience of attending college. Students will become more comfortable through identification of campus resources, building relationships with peers, faculty, and staff, and enjoying late night entertainment sponsored by student organizations.

At the start of the Spring semester we host a Winter Welcome Week for our students to celebrate the start of another semester at Wittenberg! Like in the fall semester, we host events so that students can get connected to all the resources we have for them while they interact with their peers.

Involvement Fair

Kick off your search for the right organization for you by attending the annual Involvement Fair hosted by all campus student organizations! Enjoy food and entertainment while you browse the many involvement opportunities Witt has to offer and sign up for those that sound interesting. With over 100 different organizations/departments and activities, there is something for everybody! The world is yours to discover, so take the first step by trying something new!

Student Organization Annual Retreat (SOAR)

Each semester the Office of Student Involvement hosts a day-long set of workshops for officers/executive team members of our 100+ student organizations and activities. Students engage in workshops related to their role as president and treasurer, how to be a safe social host, diversity and inclusion, student success and retention, club sports management, marketing and event planning, and general policies of student organizations.

WittFest

WittFest is all-day fun you don't want to miss! As a Union Board sponsored event, we put on an all day festival with food trucks, activities, student performers, an all-campus meal, and awesome music! Each year, Union Board brings in guest performers that entertain students during the weekend's events. Past concert headliners have been Time Flies, Hoodie Allen, 3OH3, Far East Movement, and Waka Flocka Flame. Additionally, auditions are held for students and alumni who wish to perform in the music festivities. Students are able to support their peers as they see their talents performed on stage.
