A Letter from the President of the Alumni Association
Greetings to all of our Wittenberg Alumni and welcome "home"!! On behalf of the Board of your Alumni Association, we hope that you will enjoy a walk down "memory lane" and across the campus to reminisce about your time at Wittenberg. Most of the familiar classroom buildings that have been at the center of our campus remain and some have been tastefully updated! We have added a wonderful new Science Center and Hollenbeck Hall which is home to the social sciences and humanities. Our Alumni Website will give you the opportunity to see both some of the changes that have taken place and the things that have remained a constant on our beautiful campus!
Wittenberg continues to be a highly respected hub of academic excellence! Our students are brighter and more service oriented than ever! It is truly exciting to visit the campus to see and experience all of the amazing things that are taking place there. Our current students and our alumni continue to "Pass on the Light" all over the world! We also continue to maintain our notable reputation for excellence in athletics as well, often adding to our list of championships earned!
The Board of your Alumni Association regularly returns to campus to work together with our current students to give support and encouragement in their quest to find their vocations in life. We are very excited about the creation of the SAB, Student Alumni Board, that has been formed to increase the connections between our Alumni and our current students. This group has gotten off to a rousing start and we are looking forward to continue combining our efforts to develop new ways to encourage our current students and to solidify the connections between our students and our alumni base. Your Board is also very involved in reaching out to prospective students in an ongoing effort to attract bright and well rounded high school students, encouraging them to make Wittenberg their college choice.
Another priority of the Alumni Board is to remain actively involved with our 29,000 living Alumni around the world, encouraging their ongoing engagement with Wittenberg. The Alumni Board also is involved with the Office of Alumni Relations in planning and helping to host activities for Homecoming each year. We work together with students, faculty and alumni to select deserving candidates for our Alumni Awards that honor distinguished Alumni and Professors and are presented during our Homecoming festivities. You can help with this effort by nominating someone that you feel is deserving. Other ways in which you can support our Alma Mater is to contribute to the Wittenberg Annual Fund!, to work with our Office of Admissions recruitment efforts by meeting with prospective students and parents during their campus visits or participating in college fairs and recruitment gatherings in your hometown area and by organizing alumni events in your area - become a volunteer.
We encourage you to visit the campus often! If you check the (Wittenberg Calendar} on this website, you can find a time with events and activities that might make your visit even more exciting and meaningful! Most of all we encourage you to give back to our Alma Mater in as many ways as possible by being reminded about all that our Alma Mater has given to us by shaping us into the people that we have become! So keep on "passing on the Wittenberg Light and . . .
