Thursday, April 17, 2014
Springfield, OH - This past January Rick Sterling, the founder of Sterling-Rice Group, came to Wittenberg University to present on his work in the brand management field. While here Sterling, a 1969 graduate of Wittenberg, presented the student body with the opportunity to intern, over the summer, with the Sterling-Rice Group (SRG) and another company, Boulder Brands.
The internship, which was won by Chase Beach and Shannon Inglis, will stretch over 8 weeks during the upcoming summer. The recipients will spend this time working in Colorado, at the headquarters of both SRG and Boulder Brands, in the field of brand management.
The Sterling Rice Group, which was founded in 1984, describes itself as a company, which has “brought the world’s biggest companies and inspired entrepreneurs to Boulder” where SRG helps them “change their trajectory, gain momentum, and achieve success”. Boulder Brands engages in production and marketing of healthy food products, sold under many brand names including Smart Balance and Udi’s.
The process of selecting the two students who would receive the internships, involved the submission of an essay detailing why they felt they deserved the internship. This was followed by an interview process that reduced the applicant pool from approximately 30 down to the two that were selected.
