Here at Wittenberg, a grant was received in the Fall of 2010, to encourage math and science majors to pursue a career at the secondary level in high-need school districts. Our program is entitled: "Preparing Talented STEM Majors to Serve in High Need Secondary Schools." The intent is to sponsor 16 awards over a five-year period averaging $25,000 per year to be awarded to juniors and seniors. Read more about the history of Wittenberg and the Noyce Grant at this link.
Overall responsibility for grant execution, including convening a STEM Leadership Team, developing school partnerships, supervising the external evaluator, budget oversight, and grant reporting, belongs to co-Project Directors: Dr. Gina Post, Associate Professor of Math Education and Dr. Kathy Reinsel, Associate Professor of Biology.
Accredited licensure programs for the following subject areas are available at Wittenberg. Links to our departments are included.
In Ohio, these subject areas correlate to the following Adolescent-Young Adult (7-12) licensure areas. Links below present the courses necessary to complete for Wittenberg's approved teacher licensure program in each of the fields.
