Professor Ren is a professor of international politics at the Institute of International Studies (IIS), Fudan University, Shanghai, China, and the Director of the Center for the Study of Chinese Foreign Policy at IIS. He is the author/editor of several books including New Frontiers of China’s Foreign Relations (Lanham, MD: Lexington Books, 2011) and many other professional and media publications. He is also a member of the China National Committee of Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP), and he worked at the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo from 2010 to 2012. Dr. Ren also held several research or visiting positions in Europe, Japan, and USA. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Fudan University in 1992.

A one-page RESPONSE PAPER IS DUE following the colloquium. The paper will also serve as proof of attendance.
