Prof. Dawn Allen earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Wright State University, her Master’s degree in Education  from Urbana University, her post graduate licensure in K-12 Principal Administration from The University Dayton, and has been accepted ABD to Northwest Nazarene University where she is finishing her PhD work in Higher Education.

Prof Allen started as a science teacher in 1996 with Newton Local Schools. There, she acted as both science teacher grades 4 through 8 and elementary science curriculum coordinator.  In 2000, Prof Allen moved to Graham Local Schools teaching 8th grade science. After completing her principal licensure program at the University of Dayton, she became the Intermediate Principal over grades 3 through 5.  During this time, Prof Allen was asked to team teach a Forensic Chemistry class at Urbana University, which motivated her to pursue a position in Higher Education.  In 2011, Prof Allen accepted a position with Sinclair College as a professor in the Hospitality department and the director of Agriculture, teaching the science of food safety, food chemistry and food sustainable through product selection.
