Join the DC Chapter for a service event at Arlington National Cemetery to honor those who have fallen. We will be working with the Wreaths Across America Project to lay wreaths at each gravesite for the holiday season.
To sponsor a wreath or obtain more information on the event, please go to the following website: http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.
Location: Arlington National Cemetery; We will meet in the Cemetery at the intersection of Porter Drive, Jesup Drive and Grant Drive (Sections 25, 10, 6, 3 and 34). (http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/mrp-map.htm). Please look for our Wittenberg flag!
Schedule of Events at Arlington: http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/volunteer-at-arlington/ If you would like to see the parade of trucks hauling in the wreaths, be sure to be at the Cemetery entrance no later than 7:45 AM!
Parking: Parking is restricted, so you must either walk in or metro to the Cemetery. We expect to have access to some of the Pentagon parking spots.
Security: Arlington National Cemetery will begin their screening process of visitors at 7:00 AM and gates will open to the general public at 8:30 AM. If you enter the Cemetery before 8:30 AM, you will be directed to holding areas near the Opening Ceremony location. If you enter the Cemetery after 8:30 AM, you may face a short delay entering the Cemetery due to the volume of visitors and this screening process. Please plan accordingly.
