Playing Their Part

Wittenberg Department Of Theatre And Dance Presents Comedic Play Parallel Lives

The Wittenberg University Department of Theatre and Dance gets back into the swing of things this weekend with the first of its 2007 studio stage productions. Performances of Parallel Lives will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26 and 27, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, in Blair Hall.

Directed by Kristina Tannenbaum, class of 2007 from Lake Jackson, Texas, Parallel Lives is a series of comedic sketches that depict situations in which men and women get together for more than just drinks. VARIETY magazine said Parallel Lives, originally written by Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy, is "…a romp with feminist sensibility; it’s humor for a post-Lily Tomlin generation…a smart, provocative show."

Jessica Bruce, class of 2010 from Powell, Ohio; Kari Strife, class of 2007 from Cincinnati, Ohio; Natalie Bacon, class of 2008 from Avon Lake, Ohio; Roxie Paton, class of 2008 from Strongsville, Ohio; Maureen Walsh, class of 2009 from Highland Heights, Ohio; Blaire Butler, class of 2009 from Cincinnati, Ohio; and Jordan Davis, class of 2009 from Maineville, Ohio, star in the Wittenberg production, which is open to the public.

Free tickets may be obtained at the theatre box office one hour before each performance. Call (937) 327-7443 for more information.
