Wittenberg Art Majors To Present Senior Thesis Exhibition

The Wittenberg University Department of Art requires its art majors to prepare a senior thesis to complete their degree, and they must present their work in a final exhibition. Koch Hall, the university’s art building, will house an exhibition of the seniors’ work in the Ann Miller and Thompson Galleries, and the first and second floor hallways from Friday, April 17 through Commencement. An opening reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Koch Hall.

The students and the various concentrations or media represented include Mary Griffith from Dover, Ohio, pastel and ink; Janay Combris from Brooklyn, N.Y., pastel; Ray Davis from Dublin, Ohio, acrylic; Anya Branson from Pleasant Hill, Calif., drawing; Amy Kuhn from Indianapolis, Ind., oil; Andrew Goldstein from Rockville, Md., and Gabe Kuss from Springfield, Ohio, ceramics; Kat Takats from Grand Island, N.Y., Lille Philhower from Washington, D.C., and Kate Stoverock from Gahanna, Ohio, handbuilt ceramics; and Ashley Carter from Avon, Ind., digital photography.

Carter developed her thesis project around the Springfield Masonic Home where she photographed residents of the local facility, many of whom will attend the opening reception for the artists on Saturday.

The reception is free and open to the public.
