Scheduling Your COVID-19 Vaccination

WITT Header

March 17, 2021

Dear Students,

The State of Ohio has announced that all Ohioans 16 years and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning March 29, 2021. Wittenberg University encourages all students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you are eligible.

HOW TO GET YOUR COVID-19 VACCINE

Students can contact the Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) to begin scheduling appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment, please follow their instructions here. Appointments can be made over the phone by calling 937-717-2439.

Wittenberg University is collaborating with the CCCHD to coordinate prioritized dates for students to schedule vaccine appointments. On April 7 and April 14, students can schedule appointments with the CCCHD, which has allotted vaccination spots specifically for Wittenberg students on those dates. More details on how to register for those events will be forthcoming. Wittenberg will also provide transportation to and from the vaccination site on these dates.

While the CCCHD is a primary source of COVID-19 vaccines in Clark County, there are many other options for students to consider for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. To find a COVID-19 vaccine provider, visit https://vaccine.coronavirus.ohio.gov to see a list of providers vaccinating in the current phase. We encourage students to book appointments at their earliest convenience.  For State of Ohio information on how to find vaccination sites and eligibility, click here.

VACCINE Q &A

Getting vaccinated is one of the many steps you can take to protect yourself and others from COVID-19. Help protect yourself, your family, and your community.

REGISTER THAT YOU’VE BEEN VACCINATED

Once you have been vaccinated for COVID-19, please let us know by completing the COVID-19 Vaccination Registration on the housing portal. This link will work for all students regardless of whether or not they live in University housing. By doing so, the COVID-19 Response Team can utilize vaccination data regarding our population to inform changes to COVID-19 protocols and mitigation strategies on-campus. Full instructions for logging into the housing portal and completing the Vaccination Registration are attached and on the COVID website here.

Additionally, all fully vaccinated members of the community must continue following public health protocols on campus including mask wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.  Per CDC, once you are fully vaccinated (more than two weeks following your second dose) you will not need to quarantine as an exposed contact so long as it is within 90 days and you are not experiencing and COVID-19 symptoms.  For more guidance on fully vaccinated individuals, click here.

Thank you,

The COVID-19 Response Team
