As a result of ongoing concerns with adherence to our shared health and safety expectations, the COVID Response Team (CRT) has decided to keep the University’s guest and travel policies in place at this time. The team will again review both polices the week of October 5.
On behalf of the CRT, I recognize that these expectations hinder the community-building that we seek to create at Wittenberg. However, to slow the spread of COVID-19 on our campus and ensure everyone’s health and safety, these protocols must be followed.
As such, and by way of reminder:
- You are currently prohibited from having visitors in residence hall rooms and in Witten ’burbs houses.
- Visits can occur in common spaces in residence halls or in non-residential buildings and spaces on campus, provided you wear a face covering and practice social distancing at all times. As noted above, IF all students can demonstrate an ability to follow the protocols, we will re-examine this policy next week.
- You should not leave campus unless there is an approved educational reason such as a co-op, internship or student teaching assignment; outside employment; or for essentials like groceries or medications.
- YOU MUST NOT visit bars or other college campuses.
To those who are adhering to these protocols, thank you. For those who are not, we again ask for your cooperation in keeping our community safe. We’re In This Together, and only together will we get through this.
