Weekly Testing Change

WITT Header

January 20, 2022

Wittenberg Community,

After consultation with the medical professionals on the COVID Response Team, and in light of our high vaccination rate among students and employees, we will be modifying our weekly testing protocol.

Effective immediately, only those students, faculty, and staff who are currently unvaccinated or who have not disclosed their vaccination status will need to submit weekly proof of a negative COVID test.

For employees, submission of off-campus test results should be sent to Rebecka Schlake at schlaker@wittenberg.edu no later than 5 p.m. on Friday of the week.

For students, submission of off-campus test results should be sent to deanofstudents@wittenberg.edu no later than 5 p.m. on Friday of the week.

Students and employees can update their vaccination status at any time in the MyWitt portal. Once logged in, go to the MyAdmin tab, select Personal Information, then Biographical Update, and then COVID-19 Pathway.

Free testing will still be offered between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesdays in the HWA should this be helpful. Anyone wishing to be tested is also always welcomed at this time. If you have not yet tested during these weekly events, please scan the following QR code to register.

As a reminder, if you have tested positive for COVID-19, you are exempt from testing for 90 days from the date symptoms started OR a positive test if asymptomatic.

The COVID Response Team believes this modification for those currently on the Testing Pathway will continue to keep our campus community safe while freeing up much needed resources to advance our commitment to students’ overall success.

The COVID Response Team also wishes to use the communication to remind all members of our community again to please wear their masks properly so that it fully covers the nose and mouth. We also continue to encourage vaccination, including receiving a booster shot when eligible.

Thank you for your continued due diligence as we navigate the pandemic together.

Sincerely,

The COVID Response Team
