Side Quest: Merlin app

Drs. Swartz and Phillips would love bird call data from you all during the City Nature Challenge. The data should be collected through the phone app Merlin – which allows for bird calls to be recorded and identified (using AI). To participate in this side quest:

  1. Download the Merlin app
  2. Record a SoundID observation
    • Recordings should be 1-2 minutes long
    • Recordings should take place between sunrise and 10 am Saturday (4/27) and/or Sunday (4/28).
  3. Save a screenshot of the bird species (or a couple of screen shots if its active).
  4. Send your screen shot to Richard Phillips (rphillips@wittenberg.edu)
