The Wittenberg University Police Division is a full service police and security agency that takes a proactive approach in progressive campus policing.

Chief Jim HutchinsThe Division, located in the Recitation Annex, has worked diligently to develop partnerships with the Wittenberg campus, local police agencies and the broader Clark County community. By working together we can keep the Wittenberg community a wonderful and safe place to live, attend classes, work and visit.

So I ask for the assistance and cooperation of every member of our community to do your part to protect yourself and your property: understand basic facts about safety, be alert to your surroundings, report crime or suspicious activity, walk in groups, secure your valuables and avoid excess alcohol consumption. These are just a few of the ways you can protect yourself.

The annual campus safety report outlines additional safety tips. It also describes the array of services and programs we have in place to help keep our campus community safe. These include safety programming, transportation services, security surveys for off campus housing and property registration for your bicycle. I encourage you to take the time to read the annual report.

We look forward to getting to know you! You will see our officers patrolling campus in cars, on foot and on bikes 24-hours a day, seven-days a week. Please do not hesitate to stop in the office or call us at anytime. We are here to assist and protect you.

Sincerely,

Chief Jim Hutchins
