Early Acceptance Program With Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

Wittenberg University students interested in medical careers have a pathway to a graduate degree, including medical, dental, and pharmaceutical, at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) thanks to an early acceptance agreement between the two schools. LECOM offers innovative and affordable education in osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, and dental medicine at campuses in Erie and Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Bradenton, Florida, and Elmira, New York. The agreement represents a significant opportunity for Wittenberg students to make a seamless transition to graduate school and pursue advanced degrees across several different medical fields.

According to the agreement, undergraduate students are enrolled simultaneously by Wittenberg and by LECOM as participants in the Early Acceptance Program to facilitate the admission of Wittenberg students into LECOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine, or Doctor of Pharmacy programs. Students are interviewed prior to their enrollment at Wittenberg or within the first two years of study at the University. Students interviewing successfully will be offered a provisional acceptance to the LECOM Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, or Doctor of Dental Medicine program. Students accepted to the osteopathic medicine and pharmacy programs will matriculate to the LECOM campus of their choice, dependent upon space availability. Those accepted to the dental medicine program will matriculate at the LECOM Bradenton, Florida, campus.

The EAP includes two phases. Phase I consists of the time spent at Wittenberg, while Phase II is the time spent in medical, pharmacy, or dental school education while at LECOM and its clinical training sites.

Application to the EAP is initiated by an inquiry through a link on the LECOM portal here.
