The Wittenberg Triathlon is back in 2023!
Make your plans to join us on Sunday, April 30, for the 2023 Wittenberg Triathlon. The start time for the event is 10 a.m. (registration opens at 9 a.m.). The starting and ending point for the competition is the HWA Parking Lot entrance off Bill Edwards Drive.
In the late 1990s, a few of the faculty and staff at Wittenberg started participating in the short triathlons that were popping up all over Ohio. We thought it would be a good idea to organize a triathlon right here on campus for our own Wittenberg community. The inaugural Witt Tri took place in 2000 with five individuals and three teams; since then the Witt Tri has become an annual event with over 50 participants each year.
Any Witt community member is eligible to participate -- students, alumni/ae, members of the faculty and staff, and family members as well. There's no registration fee, and there are no prizes -- except the joy of exercising and recreating with friends. You need not complete the entire event yourself; many participants form relay teams to complete the three legs. Please consider joining us for the next Wittenberg Triathlon.
This year's event is organized through a collaborative and educational project by students enrolled in a course titled HSS 220 Event Planning and Facility Management.
