Heating & Cooling Problems

Temperatures in Ohio fluctuate greatly, so our HVAC department closely monitors weather and outside temperatures when converting to heat or air conditioning for the season.  Typically in April, heat is switched over to air conditioning; vice-versa in October.

Building Heating / Cooling Notes
Ferncliff Radiant hot water baseboard in rooms - No central cooling Individual control in each room - Once the the outside temperature reaches 55 degrees, the system automatically limits the heat to the building
Firestine Hot water fan coils - Cooling capable Individual control in each room - In the spring, the system is switched to cooling mode and will not return to heating mode until an established pattern of cool days in late fall
Myers Radiant hot water baseboard in rooms -Heat is regulated based upon outside temperature - No central cooling Inability for individual control by room - Temperature of water heating the building is controlled building-wide based upon outside air temperature
New Hall Hot water / cooling fan coils units in room - Cooling capable Individual control in each room - Heated or chilled water regulates the building temperature based on outside air temperature
Tower Hot water / cooling fan coils units in room -Cooling capable Individual control in each room - Heated or chilled water regulates the building temperature based on outside air temperature
Polis Furnace / AC unit for each floor - Cooling capable Inability for individual control by room - Thermostats in hallway on each floor
Woodlawn Steam radiators - No central cooling Individual control knobs on each unit - Once the the outside temperature reaches 55 degrees, the system automatically limits the heat to the building
