The Wittenberg Triathlon is back in 2022!
Make your plans to join us on Sunday, May 1, for the 2022 Wittenberg Triathlon. The start time for the event is 9:30 a.m. (registration opens at 9 a.m.). The starting and ending point for the competition is the HWA Parking Lot entrance off Bill Edwards Drive.
In the late 1990s, a few of the faculty and staff at Wittenberg started participating in the short triathlons that were popping up all over Ohio. We thought it would be a good idea to organize a triathlon right here on campus for our own Wittenberg community. The inaugural Witt Tri took place in 2000 with five individuals and three teams; since then the Witt Tri has become an annual event with over 50 participants each year.
Any Witt community member is eligible to participate -- students, alumni/ae, members of the faculty and staff, and family members as well. There's no registration fee, and there are no prizes -- except the joy of exercising and recreating with friends. You need not complete the entire event yourself; many participants form relay teams to complete the three legs. Please consider joining us for the next Wittenberg Triathlon.
This year's event is organized through a collaborative and educational project, headed by Assistant Professor of Health & Sport Studies Calvin Hunter and students enrolled in a course titled HSS 220 Event Planning and Facility Management.
