Woman Of Influence

Anne E. Lindeman Zerbe '93 Earns Recognition From Central Pennsylvania Business Journal

Anne E. Lindeman Zerbe of York, Pa., ’93, has added two more honors to a career that has seen her presented with numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the Central Pennsylvania area.

The Central Pennsylvania Business Journal has named Zerbe a 'Woman of Influence' for 2015. The Woman of Influence award recognizes female leaders who make significant, positive impacts in local businesses and the community. The award specifically acknowledges the impact she has had on clients she serves in her employment law practice and in the greater York, Pa. community. This award follows her being named as one of 'Best 50 Women in Business' in 2008, and to  the list of  'Forty under 40' in 2009, by the same journal.

Zerbe is an attorney and shareholder with CGA Law Firm, P.C. in York, Pa. She primarily focuses on employment law and health care law. She represents clients in employment matters, oversees firm administration and management, and trains and mentors associates in employment litigation.

Zerbe graduated from Wittenberg in '93 with a B.A. in economics. She looks back on her experience at Wittenberg with great affection and acknowledges the part that experience has had on her career.

Speaking of her Economics Professor, Dr. David Wishart, Ms. Zerbe says “I want to extend my deepest gratitude to him for encouraging me to pursue the law as my career and his insight into how economics and the analysis and skills learned in that field of study enhanced my abilities to succeed as a lawyer.”

Zerbe believes Wittenberg fostered and crystallized a drive for excellence, both academically and personally.

“My professors at Wittenberg, especially, Professor Wishart, inspired the pursuit of excellence professionally, along with the pursuit of happiness, and encouraged and honed my drive and ambition to excel in my chosen career," she said. “The great friendships established at Wittenberg supported me and encouraged me in my pursuits both during and after my years at Wittenberg. I will treasure my time at Wittenberg forever.”

She received her Juris doctorate from Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University. She also holds the Senior Professional Human Resources Certification.

In 2009, she was named Alumnus of the Year for Leadership York. The award is presented each year to alumni who have made a difference volunteering in the community in leadership roles since graduation.

“If you‘re going to support something, you need be passionate about it," she said about volunteering . "It will require time and dedication.”

Zerbe is on the Board of Directors of York County Bar Association, the Board of Trustees of Albright Care Services, the Board of Directors Children’s Home of York, and the Board of Directors of Cultural Alliance of York County.

She was the subject of an article in the summer 2015 edition of YRK Magazine highlighting her pursuits in foxhunting.  In the article she compares her leisure pursuits with her professional pursuits.

“Hard work and earning the trust and confidence of clients and establishing a good business reputation take years of investment and skills. The same qualities I apply to riding and foxhunting are utilized in my legal practice every day,” she said.

Her motivation for success, born out of a determination to continually excel in her riding and foxhunting activities, drives her pursuit of service to clients and community.

"Putting the client's best interests above all else is paramount," she said. “I don’t believe you can truly achieve success without giving back to your community, including helping others in a way that enables them to achieve a better quality of life.”
