Advocate 101

Advocate Responsibilities

As an advocate, your support helps ensure that Wittenberg continues to provide an exceptional education and meaningful college experience for our students. On the Wittenberg Way, our students discern their calling, develop the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers, and prepare for purposeful and fulfilling lives.

By championing Commit to Witt, you’re passing your light and supporting the next generation of Wittenberg students. We’re grateful for your dedication and commitment.

Through social media and/or email, you can encourage your classmates and Wittenberg friends to make a gift. At the conclusion of the Commit to Witt, we ask that you thank those who gave during the day.

Getting Started

Activating your GiveCampus Account
Wittenberg University uses the GiveCampus social fundraising platform for the Commit to Witt. Please create an account through GiveCampus. This helps us effectively track the impact of your outreach efforts. Creating an account will allow you to seamlessly share messaging via social media.

Here are a few steps to get started:

Step 1: Sign Up
Visit our Commit to Witt GiveCampus web page and click on the red “Become an Advocate” button.

Step 2: Create an Account
Please create an account using your email on file with Wittenberg University. Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to activate your account and complete the sign-up process. You will be able to share via Facebook, X, and LinkedIn after account sign-up.

If you have already created an account, please log in to your advocate account.

Step 3: Share With Your Network
While logged into your GiveCampus user account, all sharing buttons generate a campaign link that is unique to you. When you use these buttons to share the campaign or the advocacy dashboard, your impact will be tracked and celebrated next to your name on the Advocates tab on the campaign page.

Step 4: Visit Our Advocate Toolkit
Be sure to visit our Advocate Toolkit here for sample emails, texts, and social media posts. Our Advocate Toolkit page also includes social media graphics.

Step 5: Create a Match or Challenge
If you would like to create a match or challenge of $1,000 or more to inspire your classmates, other alumni, and friends to give, please reach out to Chris Lilley at lilleyc@wittenberg.edu.
