Easter Message 2021

Having Light We Pass It On To Others

At Wittenberg, we find inspiration in our above motto. It guides us, connects us, and invites us to use our gifts for the greater good. As president of Wittenberg, I am honored to introduce someone who has found her light here, campus leader Zori Parker ’21. An accounting and finance double major from Pickerington, Ohio, Zori has written a special Easter message for us.

This time of sorrow and anguish is like none other. Our country is at odds, lives have been and are currently still being lost, racial divides have engulfed what would have been warmth, appreciation, comprehension and compassion for others, and students have entered into a world never seen before that ultimately lacks social interaction needed during this pivotal yet exciting time in our lives.

Though the previous statements are and have been true for a prolonged period of time now, I would like to provide a glimmer of hope for the future. I strongly urge you to keep hopeful for a better day while thanking God for every morning that you wake. Lamentations says, "Therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new EVERY morning; great is Your faithfulness."

This is a scripture I hold dear to my heart because it illustrates persistent and unwavering love, constant ability to provide, powerful and passionate loyalty to God's own beautiful creation and the un-recyclable standards God has for our well-being. Affiliation with Wittenberg means affiliation with beautiful people who love unconditionally and have unwavering support. Keep these thoughts in your heart for a better day as we enter into this weekend of love, power and gratefulness.

Thank you, Zori, for sharing these special words, and from all of us at Wittenberg, happy Easter to those who celebrate. May spring bring hope and renewal for all.
