Lesotho Blog 2025, Day 7 - Exhausting Building Day

Hi All! Kylah and Hannah here! Missing everyone back at home so much! Sending all our love your way! Now about our day. :) This was the second day at the habitat site and let me tell you... our backs were already hurting from yesterday. Today we decided it would be a good idea to switch up our job duties and we were digging and moving dirt for the floors.. Our backs were aching, our arms were aching, our hands were cramping, our feet were hurting, we were just going through it. Even Rosenberg...don't let him lie to you. But luckily, 5 guys from the community saw us struggling and decided to jump in and save the day. By save the day we mean do our job for us lol. We were so so grateful!! While they were breaking the dirt and shoveling it into the wheel barrels, they wouldn't let us girls do any of the work. But you best believe they let Rosenberg. As Rosenberg was trying to walk away with the wheel barrel the guys threw in 2 huge scoops of dirt to make it even heavier and started cracking up laughing, it was so much fun!

For lunch since the weather was so beautiful today we ate outside on the patio and we had MAC N CHEESE!! It was fire! At lunch Thanang sat with us and took pictures with us! (Thanang is our bus driver but now bff!!) After lunch I, Hannah, fell asleep on the couch because I was going through it. I wanted them to leave me behind. Once we returned to the work site you already KNOW we didn't want to do what we were doing so we switched jobs real quick. I, Hannah, worked on building the walls again which was fun cause I got to hangout with my friend max (he's not really my friend, he thinks I'm annoying and too slow at making my burritos). P.S. a burrito is just a fat chunk of mortar that looked like a burrito. Its what holds the bricks together. And I, Kylah, sawed wooden beams and nailed them to make tresses which are what hold up the roofing. Once we got back I, Hannah, went to the community center to play with the kids and got to hangout with my friend Tsepo! We took pictures and did funny snapchat filters and on our our walk back I gave him a piggy back ride! I love him, hes so precious!

BYE GUYS!!!!
