Putting Students and Families First

Newly launched Office of Student Financial Services offers comprehensive support from admission to graduation

Springfield, OH. – As a University committed to student success from day one, Wittenberg is launching a fully integrated Office of Student Financial Services to provide comprehensive support for students and families from acceptance to Commencement.

Led by Vice President for Enrollment Management Mike Brown, the restructuring unites financial aid with student accounts, both of which were previously separate offices, to help students and families with questions on everything from scholarships, loans, tuition payments, and other University expenses. In addition to creating greater efficiencies, the approach maintains Wittenberg’s long-standing commitment to personal attention across the entirety of a student’s journey.

“Wittenberg currently awards more than $40 million in financial assistance to students, and this new comprehensive approach also ensures students receive the strongest financial aid package possible earlier in the recruitment process so that they can make a fully informed decision, while receiving seamless customer service from admission to awarding to attending,” Brown said.

To assist in this transition, Wittenberg is temporarily partnering with College Aid Services (CAS), a higher education consulting firm focusing in the areas of financial aid, admission, and enrollment management. CAS will be providing interim staffing while partnering with the University to build a fully in-house permanent operation under the Division of Enrollment Management.

Joining Wittenberg in the meantime from CAS will be: CAS President Raymond Nault as Director of Student Financial Services, CAS colleague Chrystal Jefferson as Assistant Director of Student Financial Services, and CAS colleague Steven Smith as Student Financial Services Counselor.

“We are excited to be able to offer this more streamlined, comprehensive approach to helping our students and families navigate college financing from start to finish,” Brown said. “This restructuring puts students and families first, and that is exactly how it should be.”
