2022 Senior Salute: Maria Miller

Finance Major Shares Her Wittenberg Experience

Maria Miller, Class of 2022

Major: Finance
Minors: Economics and Management
Hometown and State: New Albany, Ohio
Why Wittenberg: “I have enjoyed my time at Wittenberg so much and am so sad to be leaving. I would encourage anyone who is considering Witt as their future home to get on campus! You will instantly feel the close-knit community and how different this campus is from others. The way the students interact with each other, the plentiful opportunities to get involved, along with the meaningful relationships you will create with professors, make Wittenberg one-of-a-kind. If you give Wittenberg a chance, I promise you won’t regret it!”

1. My Soccer Cleats: Represent my time in athletics. I have created some of the best memories of my life on Wittenberg’s soccer field and feel as if I have grown as an individual throughout my four years. I will forever be grateful for the program and my teammates.

2. Gamma Phi Beta Letters: These represent my time in Greek Life at Wittenberg. The ladies in Gamma Phi Beta have been truly great sisters to me. They have grown with me throughout the years, and we all share a supportive bond that will connect us to Wittenberg, even after we graduate.

3. My Bible: Represents my faith. Coming to college has been nothing like I have ever experienced before and with all its ups and downs, my faith has held still and I am thankful for my God.

4. My Finance Textbook: Coming to Wittenberg, I never thought I would be interested in this field of study, but it has quickly shaped my passions and ultimately affected what I want to do in a career.

5. Writing Pad/Calculator: These represent my on-campus jobs. At Wittenberg, you can get a job in doing almost anything you are interested in. For me, the Writing Center and Business office have been a place of comfort and growth throughout the past four years. I have developed friendships with my co-workers that have shaped me into who I am today.

6. Picture Frame: This represents the support I’ve had from friends and family throughout my college days. I have always been super close to my family, so when it came time to pick a school, I made it a priority to find a school that supports family as much as students. I am so thankful for my family and friends throughout these last four years. I could not have done it without them.
