Wittenberg is excited to welcome the class of 2029 to campus for the University’s annual Destination Witt: New Student Orientation.
Created to help first-year students, transfer students, and their families begin their successful transition to college life, the program offers sessions on academic and student life, along with campus tours, meetings with faculty and advisors, and the chance to connect with other students.
Required for incoming students, Destination Witt offers four dates on campus: Friday, June 20, Saturday, June 21, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. One-day programs begin with check-in from 8:15-8:40 a.m. and conclude by 4:30 p.m. Each session ends with an engagement fair from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Thomas Library.
“We are excited to welcome our incoming class and show them what makes Wittenberg the special place it is,” said Grace Sever, senior director of academic services and student success. “This program is a critical part of the incoming student experience as we partner with our newest Tigers in getting them ready for life at Witt! These sessions also help new students connect with many departments and offices on campus, discover more information about what Wittenberg has to offer, and ensures their questions get answered.”
During the sessions, students often begin to make connections with their peers. Additionally, each orientation session will:
• Introduce students to Wittenberg services that will support their educational and personal goals.
• Allow students to gain awareness of the academic advising system and connect with faculty and staff.
• Help students become familiar with the Wittenberg campus community and reaffirm their decision to attend Wittenberg University.
• Answer outstanding questions about the transition to Wittenberg and outline expectations for students.
