Destination Wittenberg 2022

Summer Orientation Sessions Help New Students Acclimate to College Life

Wittenberg will begin to welcome members of the incoming class of 2026 during several Destination Wittenberg: New Student Orientation sessions beginning in mid-June.

Destination Wittenberg is a required new student orientation program designed to help first-year and transfer students begin to acclimate to life as a Wittenberg University scholar. The one-day programs begin with a check-in from 8:15-9 a.m. and conclude by 4:30 p.m. each day. Sessions will be held Thursday, June 16; Friday, June 17; Saturday, June 18; Monday, June 20; and Tuesday, June 21.

“The program helps students start to make connections with their peers and learn valuable information about academics and student life at Wittenberg,” said Grace Sever, senior director of academic services and student success at the COMPASS: Sweet Success Center. “Students and families will also attend sessions with Wittenberg faculty and staff to learn about campus resources.”

At the end of each orientation day, students and families can then attend an engagement fair from 3 to 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the day, connect with many departments and offices on campus, discover more about what Wittenberg has to offer, and get all any outstanding questions answered.

“We are excited to welcome our incoming class and show our newest students the great things that Wittenberg has to offer,” Sever said.

In addition to introducing students to all the Wittenberg services that will support their educational and personal goals, as well as help them navigate the University’s academic advising system and form connections with faculty advisors, the orientation schedule will include opportunities for incoming students to complete any remaining paperwork, upload their Wittenberg ID, learn about academic policies, processes, and student services, understand their schedules, and review classroom expectations.

Fall 2022 admitted first-year and transfer students can register for an orientation session. Please note: Registration for Destination Wittenberg: New Student Orientation covers the scholar and up to three guests. There will be a $20 charge to your student account for each additional guest.
