FRIDAY, OCT. 5

Campus Tours
9:00–3:00 p.m.
Take a guided walk around campus to revisit old memories and see new spaces. Tours leave from Recitation Hall every hour on the hour. Please make an appointment. http://visit.wittenberg.edu/

Men’s Basketball Golf Outing

Windy Knoll
Come out and enjoy the start of Homecoming 2018 Weekend by playing a round of golf with your college friends! Shotgun Start using a Texas scramble format. Registration closes, October 4.  

Baseball Alumni Social
3:00 p.m. Gates Open, 4:00 p.m. Game Time
Carleton Davidson Stadium, 1101 Mitchell Blvd
Baseball alumni are invited to the Wittenberg vs. Urbana game for a special reception. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Alumni will have access to the press box, locker room, and dugout throughout the game. No RSVP required.

Every year since the inaugural Athletics Hall of Honor in 1985, Wittenberg has continued to induct the finest student-athletes, coaches and administrators to this esteemed group of honorees who have excelled in their service to the university, either on the field of competition or behind the scenes, making possible everything our student-athletes accomplish. Registration closes, September 27.

Legacies and Leadership: A Celebration of Philanthropy

Our annual brunch provides scholarship students, alumni, donors, and families the opportunity to hear about the impact of their gifts, as well as highlights some of Wittenberg’s most outstanding alumni. Register by Oct. 2.  

Pam Smith Memorial 5k

Join us to honor the memory of former Wittenberg Women’s Basketball Head Coach Pam Evans Smith with the annual Pam Evans Smith Memorial 5K. All proceeds will benefit the Pam Evans Smith Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a senior woman who exemplifies high levels of leadership, good character, integrity, volunteerism, and scholastic achievement. Register by September 23.

It’s a big year for the Hagen Center!  2018 marks 30 years since the Community Service Program began at Wittenberg and 10 years since the Hagen Center first opened its doors.  Join current and former Hagen Center staff, community partners, community service coordinators, and Hagen Center interns for a celebration of partnership between Wittenberg and Greater Springfield.

Coaches Circle members are welcome to attend a D-Cap Tailgate with food, fun and football at field level. Engage with other alumni and cheer on the Tigers. Look for the tent in the south end zone.

The Rev. Sherman Hicks, Wittenberg Class of 1968 will preach. Join the service for Holy Communion and music from the Wittenberg Choir.

Following his M.Div. from Hamma Seminary, Pastor Hicks has served in numerous roles in first the Lutheran Church in America, and then the ELCA, including as executive director of ELCA Multicultural Ministries and bishop of the ELCA Metropolitan Chicago Synod, as well as pastoring congregations in Washington, DC, New Jersey, and New York.
