WittClipse: Planetary Tour and Presentations

A map showing the locations of the Planetary Information Stations, which also provide an overview of the solar system and the project overall, can be found here.

Additionally, Professor Emeritus Dan Fleisch is slated t`o present at area schools and organizations leading up to the April 8 eclipse. Local and regional off-campus presentations currently on the docket include:

  • Horace Mann Elementary School in Springfield
    Monday, March 4 (multiple presentations)
  • Kiwanis Club in Springfield
    Wednesday, March 26
  • Dayton Regional STEM School
    Monday, April 1
    Event will be all day at Weaver Observatory on campus.

Professor Fleisch is hosting a special series of on-campus presentations in Weaver Observatory every Sunday at 1 p.m. beginning March 10-April 7. Skies permitting, a solar observing session will follow in the observatory. The schedule and topics on-campus are as follows:

  • Sunday, March 10: Galaxies
  • Sunday, March 17: Stars
  • Sunday, March 24: Planets
  • Sunday, March 31: Cathedrals as Solar Observatories
  • Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7: Eclipse Tips
