Can I declare a major or minor at Destination Witt?

  • As a liberal arts university, Wittenberg prides itself on providing an academic environment and a general education program that allows students to explore many areas of interest and passion before deciding on a major(s) and/or minor(s) that suits them. In the Course Preferences portal, you will be able to select Academic Areas of Interest. This way, the Registrar's Office can build an academic schedule for you that helps you explore potential options and meet the General Education requirements.
  • As a new student, you are encouraged to declare a major after your first semester at Wittenberg. However, you do not need to declare a major until the second semester of your sophomore year.
  • As a transfer student, Orientation is a great time to declare your major and make scheduling adjustments that better fit your academic experience. You will be able to discuss a major declaration during the advising session.

As a family member attending the Destination Witt with my student, why are we being separated for the middle part of the day?

  • As a college student, your child will be taking on more ownership and responsibility in their academic experience. By dividing into two groups, we can ensure that the information throughout the day is catered to both audiences. We also want to ensure that your student can identify a support system of peers that can help them when they start classes in the Fall. Those relationships are easier to build when the student groups can ask real questions of our student leaders.

What if my Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores are reported after I attend Destination Witt?

  • The Registrar's Office will review how the scores may impact your class schedule and make changes as necessary. To follow up with the scores and class schedule changes, please reach out to the Registrar's Office at 937-327-6131 or registrar@wittenberg.edu.
