Wittenberg Chapter of Mortar Board Earns Top National Honor

Springfield, Ohio - The Wittenberg Chapter of the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society has earned the Society’s Gold Torch award. The award is a national recognition conferred upon the most exceptional chapters of Mortar Board. The award was presented to chapter delegates at the society’s annual conference held last month in Phoenix, Ariz. To receive the award, recipients must excel in all areas of chapter operations while promoting scholarship, leadership and meaningful service to their institutions.

“Gold Torch chapters add considerably to Mortar Board’s standing. We are proud that they are providing high-impact educational programs for their campus communities,” explained Jane Hamblin, Mortar Board’s executive director.

Along with The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati, Wittenberg was one of only three chapters in Ohio to receive the award.
