Committed to engaging alumni, fostering relationships, strengthening connections, supporting the University’s mission, and ensuring that the alumni community continues to make an impact long after graduation, Wittenberg’s Alumni Association Board represents more than 26,000 alumni living in every U.S. state and around the globe. Current Alumni Board president, Stephanie L. Morgan-White, class of 1992 and a trust principal/attorney with The Glenview Trust Company in Louisville, Kentucky, reflects that commitment in her life and work.
After graduating from Wittenberg, Morgan-White, who majored in psychology with a minor in sociology, went on to obtain her Juris Doctor in 1995 from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Before joining Glenview, she was a partner with the Louisville law firm of Goldberg Simpson, LLC where she spent nearly 19 years serving individuals and families. She also previously served as a staff attorney with the Kentucky Court of Appeals and holds membership in the Kentucky Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, and the Louisville Bar Association.
Certified by the American Bankers Association (ABA), Morgan-White is also a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), serves on the ABA Wealth and Trust School Advisory Board, the Northeast Family YMCA Board of Advisors, and is an active member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church.
She currently resides on a small farm outside of Louisville, Kentucky, with her husband Craig, daughters Morgan and Shelby, and her beloved dog. Her oldest daughter, Morgan, graduated from Wittenberg in 2023 and is now a graduate student at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her youngest daughter, Shelby, will graduate from Wittenberg in 2027 with a major in education and a minor in psychology.
As a first-generation college student from rural Kentucky, Morgan-White had never heard of Wittenberg until a postcard from the college unexpectedly arrived featuring a stunning fall picture of Myers Hall before she even entered high school. Impacted by the beauty of the campus, she vowed that she would visit Wittenberg one day. In high school, she met a group of students from nearby Louisville who spoke highly of Wittenberg and encouraged her to follow through on making that visit to Witt. When she did, a simple walk across campus and attendance at a football game confirmed her gut feeling that Wittenberg was the right fit for her.
During her time on campus, she served as an Admission tour guide, officer of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a cheerleader for both football and basketball, and was inducted into multiple honorary organizations.
“Among my favorite memories are cheerleading road trips in the Wittenberg vans, cheer practices on the stage of the old 1929 Field House, living in the beautiful big blue Alpha Delta Pi house at 1019 North Fountain, sleeping in the cold dorm there, and living on the fourth floor of Tower Hall her freshman year,” she said. “One particularly memorable experience was being stranded on the interstate in a white Wittenberg van for hours in a complete winter whiteout while traveling to an away men’s basketball game—long before the days of cell phones.”
Years later, Morgan-White remains one of Wittenberg’s most enthusiastic supporters.
“Confidence in the University’s future is strengthened by the positive experiences of both daughters and by the dedication of President Christian Brady and the faculty to helping students discover their calling,” she said. “I believe that when a calling is paired with the Wittenberg experience, graduates leave with the strong work ethic, character, and well-rounded preparation necessary for lasting professional success.”
