Campus Update - December 4, 2025

Presidential Message Header Wittenberg

Wittenberg Faculty and Staff,

With the holiday season underway and vacations being planned, I wanted to provide an update on several fronts leading into the new year.

First, we announced the new head coach of Wittenberg Football on Monday, Dec. 1. BJ Coad, a history major from the class of 2008, has an impressive resume, including four seasons as an assistant coach at Wittenberg. As he shared in a special recap video, he is excited to return to his alma mater and to begin recruiting the next generation of student-athletes. My thanks to the search committee for its tireless work in bringing this search to a successful conclusion.

With regard to searches, we are also preparing to post the Matevia University Pastor position. To assist us in finding our next campus pastor, the following members of our community have agreed to serve on the search committee: Kristen Collier, Hagen Center; Taylor Collins '26; Elizabeth George, Physics; Andy Graff, English; Avery Livingstone '25; Daniel Marous, Chemistry; Rev. Cathy Schibler Keegan, Board of Directors; Katie Stotsky, Student Involvement; and Bob White, Admission. Thank you all for your willingness to serve in this capacity.

Internally, and as the search for our next Vice President for Finance and Administration continues, we have realigned our campus scheduling and events responsibilities. Kyle Himsworth, who has been serving as our Associate Registrar and Coordinator of Scheduling, will now serve as our Director of Campus Scheduling and Events, and Lauren Tucker will now serve as Director of Conference and Event Services. Both she and Kyle will report to the VPFA's office, and Lauren's office will also now be located in Recitation Hall. Kyle will continue to support the Registrar's Office until a new Associate Registrar arrives.

Additionally, this week finds us hosting two events at the Benjamin Prince House. This evening, Elizabeth and I will be congratulating our December graduates during a special reception for them and their families. The festivities will then continue tomorrow, December 5, with the Annual Tree Lighting on Chapel Lawn at 6:30 p.m. and Lessons and Carols for Advent & Christmas at 7:30 p.m. in Weaver Chapel. Following the latter event, all attendees are invited to join us for a special holiday-themed reception in our home.

As I shared in last week's Thanksgiving video, Elizabeth and I are thankful for everyone in this community and look forward to celebrating the holiday season with you. The Wittenberg Way is paved with your commitment to excellence in all things, and together we will continue to make a difference.

Yours,

Christian M. M. Brady, DPhil (Oxon.)
President
