Philosophy for Difficult Conversations: Difficult Questions about Campus Speech

April 5, 2024
Start Time: 12:00 pm
Location:
Room 300; Hollenbeck Hall

Often, we avoid difficult conversations for fear of conflict, particularly when these conversations deal with controversial issues. In this series, we’ll use philosophical methods to ask important questions about controversial issues and facilitate respectful and effective conversations on those issues. All are welcome– students, staff, faculty, and community members!

At this event, we will use philosophical methods to ask and discuss difficult questions about the ethics of inviting speakers to college campuses, and the ethical and epistemic impacts of restrictions (and lack of restrictions) on campus speech over lunch. All (including students, faculty, and staff) are welcome! Please RSVP
