Emerge is a first year leadership program where individuals will explore self awareness of personal values, develop and identify passion through commitment, and recognize how group processes lead to shared aims and values. You will create, discuss, and enact social change on the campus and in the community. You will have the opportunity to interact with a small group of your peers, upperclass facilitators, faculty, staff, and community members. Emerge participates will be looked to as catalysts of change for campus in their involvements and serve as a motivator and role model for peers at Wittenberg University.

The second year of college presents new opportunities for identifying areas of vocation, uncovering your passion, and making deeper connections. Surge is a tool to discover greater academic, career, or vocation discovery. The program also equips you for further success at Wittenberg. Challenge yourself, expand your Wittenberg experience, and take charge of your final two years in college by exploring passion-building topics of: identity, creative conflict, inclusion and barrier-smashing. Learn to lead from where you are so you can go on to create meaningful change. This experience is ideal for current leaders, future leaders, and students ready to explore their passions and interests.


CABLE Group PhotoCommunication and Business Leadership Experience (CABLE)

CABLE is a unique, high-impact professional development opportunity open to Communication, Business, and Sport Management majors and minors. Students learn how to present themselves professionally, network with communication practitioners in a variety of fields, conduct research on case studies and present recommendations to those professionals, and ultimately create a smoother transition for themselves into their career after graduating from Wittenberg.

Every year, students have the opportunity to participate in a mock interview program. Each student can select a position description, submit a resume/cover letter, and be interviewed in-person by a Wittenberg alum and faculty member. Obviously, this is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the real thing.


Hagen Center Off-Campus Employment50/50 Off Campus Jobs

The Community Partners 50/50 Program is a student employment partnership initiative designed to benefit Wittenberg students as well as local employers. Clark County businesses, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and churches may hire Wittenberg students to perform essential tasks. This program offers full-time undergraduate students valuable off-campus employment opportunities that relate to their course of study, their future career objectives, or their personal skills or area of interest. Wittenberg University will pay half the cost of minimum wage per hour and the employing partner pays the rest.


CRAFT

High-impact student employment program for a graphic design student. The employment is more like an internship because the student is hired to apply the skills they are learning in graphic design. The CRAFT student designs logos and other marketing materials for entities within Wittenberg and in the community. The program is supported with student employment dollars.
