Ensuring that summer study results in students achieving their educational goals, the School of Graduate & Professional Studies provides the following overview.
The summer tuition charge is $503 per credit—less than half the charge for an overload credit in a regular semester.
Because traditional financial aid (other than loans) is not available during the summer, the School of Graduate & Professional Studies offers the Summer Incentive Grant to assist in financing summer coursework. If you receive need-based aid during the regular academic year and your EFC (Expected Family Contribution, determined from FAFSA analysis) is $20,000 or less, you may be eligible.
Summer Incentive Grants come in the following three levels, based on EFC:
|$170 deducted per semester credit||EFC of $6000 or less|
|$108 deducted per semester credit||EFC of $6001 - $12,000|
|$74 deducted per semester credit||EFC of $12,001- $20,000|

For students participating in off-campus summer field study programs, a $40 per credit Summer Incentive Grant will be awarded for qualifying students.
For international students receiving need-based scholarship aid totaling $13,000 or higher during the regular academic year, a $74 per credit Summer Incentive Grant will be awarded to cover summer tuition.
