Educational Philosophies - Overview
- ARTICLE: We are what we teach by Tom Hoffman
- The article examines the basic philosophies of education. The main historical philosophies of education are: essentialism, perennialism, progressivism, social reconstruction, existentialism, and constructivisim. The current buzz word in education today is meta-cognition. It means that people have knowledge of their thinking processes and strategies.

APA Citation Style:
- Purdue OWL (Online Writing Lab) - this site explains the details of properly formatting your Word document for APA Style. It also details how to properly cite in-text citations (direct quotes or paraphrases) for different types of sources, like books or articles. Finally, it describes how create your Reference List to include at the end of your paper.
- The Little Tiger Handbook is often required in English 101 and several copies are available to use in the library. This handbook is a good summary of the APA Style Manual and is easier to read.
