A New Standard Of Athletics Excellence

Thanks to an inspiring, leadership-level gift by Wes ’70 and Ann Bates ’70, and generations of Tigers, Wittenberg is now home to the fully renovated and expanded 265,000-square-foot Health, Wellness & Athletics (HWA) Complex, and its centerpiece, The Steemer indoor practice facility. Dedicated October 25, 2019, the complex is already setting the new standard of excellence in NCAA Division III, in community engagement, and in student success.

Respecting Tradition

Wittenberg had a choice to move forward with a completely new facility or preserve its architectural heritage, which reflects its strong athletics history. The University chose the latter, as evidenced by the stunning restoration of the 1929 Fieldhouse and other updates and improvements across the Health, Wellness & Athletics Complex .
