Roberta Linder, Associate Professor of Education, joined the Wittenberg Education Department in August of 2009. She is presently teaching courses in reading assessment & strategies and phonics in the teaching of reading and writing as well as courses in the master's program. Prior to becoming a member of the Wittenberg faculty, Dr. Linder taught in the Master of Arts in Reading Instruction program at Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, where her instruction focused on action research, word study, and reading instruction for diverse learners.
Experiences as a Title I reading specialist, high school special education teacher, middle school reading teacher, and reading tutor for school-age children and adults have provided Dr. Linder with the rich background that supports her instruction in literacy courses. Her research, publications, and presentations have addressed various facets of middle school education (e.g., multicultural literature), media literacy and technology. Dr. Linder has presented at literacy and middle level conferences at the local, state, and national levels.
Dr. Linder received her B.A. in Education from Capital University, M.S.Ed. in Learning Disabilities from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, and Ed.D. in Literacy Education from Northern Illinois University.
