CMD Cancellation Policies

Instructor Cancellations: If a CMD instructor must cancel a lesson, the instructor will contact the student directly. All lessons canceled (by the instructor or the University) may be made up. All instructors will coordinate make-up arrangements and inform students. If a make-up cannot be scheduled, the instructor will give lesson credit on the next semester bill.

Private Lesson Student Cancellations: At the beginning of each term, the instructor will discuss with the parent (student) to determine the number of lessons to be billed. For cancellation of a lesson, the parent (student) needs to contact the instructor immediately. For excused cancellations due to illness and emergencies, a 50% credit will be given on the next term's billing—limited to no more than two excused cancellations.

No Advanced Notification of Cancellation: Students who fail to appear at the assigned lesson time without previous noti fication will be charged for the lesson. (All lessons the instructor deems unexcused are listed as No Shows and the instructor will receive full credit for the lessons. If at any point the instructor feels like a student/parent is taking advantage by missing too many lessons, the instructor has the authority to decide to end lessons with that student).

Group Lessons: Group lessons cannot be made up, nor refunds given, except for inclement weather and instructor cancellations. All payments for CMD group classes must be received by the first class meeting.

Inclement Weather or Other University Cancellations: If the University closes CMD private lessons or group classes will be canceled. It will be announced on local media and the Wittenberg home page: www.wittenberg.edu. Instructors will contact their students and these canceled lessons may be made up or lesson credit given on the next semester's lessons.

  • NOTE: Wittenberg does not follow the closing decisions of local school districts.
