WITT Connected is a 4-day overnight program meant for traditionally marginalized groups (race/ethnicity, LGBTQIA+, first-gen) created to provide a supportive network of friends, faculty, and staff to make the transition into Wittenberg as smooth as possible. During WITT Connected, students will engage in many activities around self-discovery, relationship & community building, exploring campus resources a little more in depth, and gaining a better understanding of Wittenberg, Springfield, and surrounding areas.
The fall 2024 dates for this opportunity will be Sunday, August 18 to Wednesday, August 21 and will lead directly into Welcome Week events that begin on Thursday, August 22 for the entire first year class. Students participating in WITT Connected are required to attend scheduled activities in both WITT Connected and Welcome Week.
Tentative Schedule:
- Sunday, August 18, 2024 – WITT Connected Day #1: Move In & Acclimating to Campus
- Families will move students in during the morning and afternoon, pausing for lunch to learn more about the WITT Connected schedule. The student schedule will begin as families are leaving campus.
- Monday, August 19, 2024 – WITT Connected Day #2: Telling Your Story & Building Relationships
- Students will spend valuable time doing fun activities with McClain Center professional and student staff learning about themselves and building relationships.
- Tuesday, August 20, 2024 – WITT Connected Day #3: Where to Find Help & Resources
- Students will meet with various departments on campus and learn about how to work with them. This day will include a talk with diverse Wittenberg Alumni.
- Wednesday, August 21, 2024 – WITT Connected Day #4: Exploring Springfield & Surrounding Areas
- Students will have an opportunity to explore a nearby city for entertainment and education.
- Thursday, August 22, 2024 – Welcome Week begins - Welcome Week Schedule
- WITT Connected Student Ambassadors will assist and encourage students to meet with their Tiger Team leader to participate in Welcome Week activities!
Move-in Details:
- Sunday, August 18, 2024
- 10:00am – 12:00pm – students will move directly into their fall housing assignment
- 12:00pm – 2:00pm – families enjoy lunch and a Wittenberg session before departing
