Why did you decide to be an RA/CA/'Burbs RA this year?
I decided to become an RA for a number of reasons. One being that I believed that it would allow me to come out of my ways of being introverted, ultimately transforming me into an outgoing person. Secondly, I feel that this position is vital to the way in which a person can build a sense of community with those around them, therefore making college a more fulfilling experience. Lastly, I felt that being in this position would allow me to impact other people’s lives in a positive way, which in turn gives me a sense of pride.

Share one conversation roommates should have with one another prior to college starting.
One conversation that roommates should have before moving in with one another should definitely revolve around the boundaries of each roommate. Establishing boundaries makes living easier because you know what’s acceptable and what isn’t.
What is 1 or 2 things you packed for college that you realized you DIDN'T need?
One thing I packed that I really didn’t need was a TV. In college, especially as a student-athlete, you don’t have much time to sit down to watch TV. You’ll often find yourself with lots of homework, doing things on campus, or for me, at practice for a long time. Plus, a TV is provided in the lobby, so unless watching TV is a necessity for you, you don’t really need a TV.

College puts you in close living quarters with other people. Meet the people around you! Friends from your hall can become an excellent source of fun and comfort just steps from your room. Also, just because you are living amongst others doesn't mean you have to compromise your personal happiness. You're allowed to say no and you're allowed to have conversations about boundaries. Finally, get to know your RA! We are here as a resource and also a support system.
What is 1 or 2 things you packed for college that you realized you DIDN'T need?

DO NOT bring your whole closet to your dorm... you just don't need it all... I learned the hard way. Also, always be kind to the people living around you. A happy, kind environment will always be the best way to live in a dorm. Also, if you have a roommate, have open conversations with them about things and issues that arise. Don't just let it all ball up.

My favorite study spot on campus is a tie between the third floor in the library, because it is a quiet floor but it has a beautiful view of Stoughton Lawn, which is always active, and the science center, because I practically live there for my major and studying where you will take the exam helps IMMENSELY!
In a few words, why do you have a passion for helping students turn Wittenberg into a home?
I love Wittenberg, and it really has became my second home. I want to help others utilize the resources on campus because the opportunities here truly have so much to offer. I have had amazing experiences from the connections I have made just my first year here. As far as my job in the residence halls I wanted to provide a space that you can go to at the end of the day to feel safe and relaxed.

Why did you decide to be an RA/CA/'Burbs RA this year?
I chose to become a RA this year because I thought this would be a great way to become more involved and connected with the community here at Wittenberg.
What is one of your favorite memories living in the residence halls?
One of my favorite memories is definitely the energy of tower hall and how there’s always something going on.
Share a couple tips about the move from home-life to dorm-life that every incoming Witt student should know.
It’s a daunting experience at first but if you allow yourself to be social and enjoy the new life it quickly becomes something enjoyable to live in a dorm and community with other students.
Favorite Study Spot on Campus?
My favorite study spot has to be the basement of tower, it’s always quiet and not many people are down there at night or in the early mornings.
In a few words, why do you have a passion for helping students turn Wittenberg into a home?
The people who helped me when I had finally been able to come to this campus were amazing, and I honestly just want to contribute more to this community and help those who need it.
