Dr. Gellar teaches courses in communication theory, reasoning and communication, and rhetoric. Her research focuses on the rhetorical construction of knowledge in oppositional spaces — particularly how far-right movements gain and maintain power online. She has also worked with the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project, which monitors hate and antigovernment groups across the United States. Her work has appeared in Rhetoric & Public Affairs and Communication and Democracy, and she is an assistant editor of the forthcoming volume Male Supremacism in Global View.
Dr. Gellar holds a B.A. from Ithaca College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her doctorate in 2026.
