Officer Edward Hammond has worked in law enforcement since 2016. He joined the Wittenberg University Police Division as a patrol officer in the spring of 2025.
Previously, Officer Hammond served as a patrol officer and Acting Officer in Charge for the Village of St. Paris. He also worked for Dayton Children’s Hospital, and was a member of their Tactical Response Team and served as a road officer with the Cedarville Police Department. In addition, he is a Field Training Officer (FTO) who assists in training new officers.
Outside of work, Officer Hammond enjoys spending time with his family and animals and has an interest in wrestling.
Officer Hammond believes his role goes beyond preventing, stopping, and solving crime. He is committed to serving the community, protecting those most in need, and building trust with the people he serves.
