Embedding and Looping Videos in PowerPoint

1. Open your PowerPoint Presentation.
Navigate to the slide where you want to embed the video,
or:

  • Go to the Home tab.
  • New Slide and select the Blanks layout.
 
2. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon.  

2a.  Embed Local Video File

  • Click Video -> Video on This Device.
  • Browse and select your video file (e.g., MP4, WMV).
  • Click Insert. The video will appear on the slide.
  • Resize or reposition the video as needed.

2b. Embed Online Video

  • Click Video -> Online Video.
  • Enter or Paste the URL to the video you want to embed.
  • Click Insert. The video will appear on the slide.
  • Resize or reposition the video as needed.

 

3. (Optional) To make a local video loop:

  • Select the video on the slide.
  • Go to the Playback tab (appears when the video is selected).
  • Check the box for Loop until Stopped.
  • Optional: Set Start to Automatically if you want it to play without clicking.

Note: This will only work for local videos. For an online video to loop, if supported by the online video service, once you start the video you will have to click on it and select the loop option there.
