Degree Requirements:

Major in Religion - 33 credits

Required courses:

  • RELI 112 or RELI 114 or RELI 134 - 4 credits
  • RELI 221 or RELI 222 - 4 credits
  • RELI 241 - 4 credits
  • One course from TWO of the following three groups (8 credits)
    • Group 1 (History of Religions): 333, 335, 336, 339
    • Group 2 (Biblical Studies): 321, 324, 326, 327
    • Group 3 (Religious Ethics): 342 or 378
  • RELI 498 - 1 credit
  • Three additional 4-credit RELI courses, at least one at the 300-level - 12 credits

Note: With advance permission of the chair, one related course in another department may be counted toward the major.

Minor in Religion - 20 credits

A minor in religion consists of five 4-credit courses, at least one at the 300-level, including one course from each of the following groups:

  • Group 1 (History of Religions): 110, 112, 114, 116, 120, 134, 213, 333, 335, 336, 339
  • Group 2 (Biblical Studies): 121, 221, 222, 321, 324, 326, 327
  • Group 3 (Religious Ethics and Christian Thought): 177, 241, 310, 340, 342, 378
