The Inauguration of Dr. Christian M. M. Brady

In a ceremony steeped in tradition and celebrating the Wittenberg Way, Dr. Christian M. M. Brady was formally installed as the University's 16th president, Oct. 17, in historic Weaver Chapel. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, delegates representing institutions across the country, and members of the University’s Board of Directors, Alumni Association Board, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Springfield community were in attendance. We’re grateful to the alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends who gave generously during A Week for Witt, our second annual giving week, Oct. 18-24. The week was especially meaningful as we celebrated the inauguration of President Brady on Oct. 17. Tigers nationwide supported several key areas, including Scholarships, Experiential Learning, Presidential Initiatives, Athletics, The Wittenberg Fund, and more. Your support ensures Wittenberg continues to provide an exceptional, student-centered education and vibrant campus experience.


Leonardo JuarezStudent Earns Prestigious Scholarship

Physics major and math minor Leonardo Juarez, class of 2026 from Springfield, Ohio, has been awarded a $10,000 Thomas D. Rossing Physics Scholarship through the Network of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Colleges and Universities. Juarez is one of only three students nationwide to earn the award with nine other students each receiving a $5,000 scholarship.


Trick or Treat PhotoTrick-or-Treat Night

The Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted a special Trick-or-Treat event with games and activities for the Springfield community at The Steemer, Oct. 27. Students representing intercollegiate athletics teams and other campus organizations handed out treats to children ages 12 and under dressed in a wide variety of creative costumes. Conversations with the President GraphicConversations With the President

The first conversation in a new collaborative series will have President Christian M. M. Brady discussing the value of the liberal arts in modern society with retired Vice Admiral Phil Wisecup at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 18. in Chakeres Memorial Theatre. Free and open to the public, the event will conclude with a Q&A and reception.


Wittenberg Series PosterWittenberg Series Continues

The powerhouse duo of Lindsay Deutsch and Jason Stoll will present a musical performance at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, in historic Weaver Chapel. Trained at the world’s top conservatories, Deutsch on violin and Jason Stoll on piano showcase their dazzling technique as they perform masterpieces from Bach and Beethoven to Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel. Christmas Tree LightingA Season of Light

The Wittenberg community will celebrate "A Season of Light" with two cherished holiday traditions on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. The fifth annual tree-lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Chapel Lawn, followed by Lessons and Carols at 7:30 p.m. in historic Weaver Chapel. Pre-service music will begin at 7 p.m. In keeping with tradition, the service will conclude with a candlelit singing of Silent Night. All are invited to attend.


Student Alumni Association Event 2025Building Connections

The Student Alumni Association (SAA) hosted its second annual Halloween Trivia Night at Founders Pub, bringing together students, alumni, and staff for an evening of spooky fun. Participants tested their knowledge of Halloween history and quirky facts, competing for exciting prizes donated by local businesses. SAA works to inspire lifelong loyalty to Wittenberg and welcomes all students to get involved. Stay tuned for more chances to connect, network, and build Tiger pride with SAA!
