A Message from the Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement,

It is a privilege to join the Wittenberg community at such a pivotal moment in the University’s history. To assume this role alongside President Brady, campus colleagues, and the many alumni and friends who dedicate their time and expertise is both humbling and inspiring. Together, we have the opportunity to advance Wittenberg’s mission and ensure that future generations of students continue to benefit from its transformative education.

Today, Wittenberg finds itself in a time of challenge and opportunity. Yet, walking across campus, I am struck by the sense of vitality and promise that defines this special place. The enthusiasm of our students — in the classroom, on the playing fields, and in countless activities — serves as a reminder of the enduring strength of this institution. I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome I have received, and I am proud to be a part of this vibrant community now.

The long tradition of philanthropy and engagement has been central to Wittenberg’s success. The loyalty, generosity, and commitment of our alumni and friends are extraordinary, and it is clear that this dedication has sustained the University for generations. Wittenberg graduates distinguish themselves in their professions and communities, and their pride in their alma mater is evident and encouraging.

As I begin this work, I look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks and months ahead — whether at Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend later this month, the presidential Inauguration in October, or other gatherings throughout Ohio and across the country. Each of these occasions provides an important opportunity to celebrate our shared commitment to Wittenberg’s future.

Please know that my team and I stand ready to assist and to partner with you. Together, we can honor Wittenberg’s remarkable legacy while ensuring its continued vitality for the years ahead.

Michael McGreevey With Gratitude,

Michael R. McGreevey
Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement

Countdown to Homecoming: Register Now!

Thank you to all alumni and families who have registered for Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend! Many of our reunion dinner event registrations have closed, but all are welcome back to campus to enjoy the events not requiring an RSVP, including the Tiger Tailgate, athletic competitions, Career Conversations, Tour of the Night Sky, Trivia Night, Reunion Late Night, and the bonfire. Reunion class members can mark their milestone reunion with a meaningful gift, such as a one-time donation, a gift extended over multiple years, or a legacy gift within an estate plan.

Opening Convocation GraphicOpening Convocation

Following Welcome Week, which included the first-ever “Live From the Hollow” event hosted by Wittenberg’s new president, Dr. Christian M. M. Brady, the University gathered in community for the Wittenberg Series-sponsored Opening Convocation, Aug. 27. In his address during this traditional kick-off of the new academic year, President Brady discussed hope, noting that hope "is not simply a belief or an attitude; it is the first action we must take in any endeavor."

Inauguration GraphicPresidential Inauguration

The Inauguration of Dr. Christian M. M. Brady is scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025, in historic Weaver Chapel. Activities are being planned leading up to and after the momentous event, October 15-19. The Inauguration will also be streamed live at www.wittenberg.edu/live.

Flag Football GraphicWelcome Women's Flag Football

Capitalizing on tremendous national momentum and thanks to donor support, Wittenberg will offer women’s flag football as a new intercollegiate athletics team, with plans to begin competition in the spring 2026 season. Women’s flag football has been identified by the NCAA as an “Emerging Sport for Women,” with more than 60 colleges already sponsoring teams.

Cheerleading GraphicThree Cheers for the Tigers

Cheerleaders have played an important role in the intercollegiate athletics gameday experience at Wittenberg University for decades. Starting in the 2026-27 school year and thanks to the support of alumni donors, cheerleading opportunities for Wittenberg students will be expanded and enhanced with the sponsorship of the University’s first-ever competitive cheer program.

Ice Hockey GraphicHitting the Ice

After sponsoring a student-run ice hockey club team for many years, Wittenberg University will take its involvement in the sport to another level. Thanks to donor support, Wittenberg will sponsor men’s and women’s American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) ice hockey teams starting in the 2026-27 school year. The program will be led by Tyler Prater, who was recently hired as head coach of both of the new Tiger ice hockey teams.

Benjamin Prince Society GraphicHeartfelt Thanks

We’re grateful to the hundreds of alumni and friends who supported Wittenberg as members of the Benjamin Prince Society (BPS) this past fiscal year. Named for the beloved teacher, scholar, and servant-leader who worked at Wittenberg for 69 years, the BPS honors individuals who have shown uncommon commitment to Wittenberg’s academic excellence through their annual support. Membership in the society is tiered to make it accessible to all. As we begin a new fiscal year, we invite you to join the Benjamin Prince Society.
