Dr. Molly Hopkins, DAT, MSED, AT is a Board-Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer and educator with experience in collegiate athletics, clinical sports medicine, and higher education. Her professional background includes extensive work in orthopedic rehabilitation, injury evaluation, post operative care, concussion management, and return-to play programming across both NCAA Division I and Division III settings.
Dr. Hopkins previously served as an athletic trainer and adjunct faculty member in exercise science at Wittenberg she has taught courses in applied anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition and health and wellness while mentoring future healthcare professionals through clinical education and internship coordination. She also coordinated sports medicine orientation initiatives, supervised rehabilitation programming, and collaborated closely with physicians and orthopedics specialists to provide comprehensive care for collegiate student-athletes.
Prior to her work at Wittenberg, Dr. Hopkins completed a residency athletic training position at The Ohio State University, where she worked in the Big Ten Conference as a primary healthcare provider for men’s gymnastics and provided secondary coverage to the softball, field hockey, and men’s soccer. She also gained additional collegiate experience as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Elmira College in Elmira, New York.
Dr. Hopkins earned her Doctor of Athletic Training in Clinical Sports Medicine from Ohio University, a Master of Science in Education from Elmira College, and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Science from Urbana University. Her scholarly interests include workload monitoring, injury prevention, clinical informatics, and use of wearable technology in collegiate athletics. Her most recent research has focused on performance monitoring and workload analysis in collegiate men’s lacrosse and women’s soccer using Catapult GPS technology.
